You Can't Water-ford to Miss It
Those who fancy a good street party in August will be able to find one of the biggest around, in the Irish city of Waterford.
Known as the Spraoi Festival, (the word is Gaelic for Party) the event features street music, art, processions and performances between August 2nd and 5th, all for free.
The party has been running since 1993, when it was just a single day festival, with its subsequent growth a testimony to its success.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels will be able to enjoy the spectacle as well as the traditional Irish party spirit and liking for the odd tipple.
Along with the other thousands of people enjoying the festival, visitors will also be able to enjoy tours of the city walls, explore the nearby mountains and coastline or visit the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre, home of the famous makers of fine glass utensils.
