Biennale Presents Contemporary Dance

Venice will be exploring the culture and significance of contemporary dance as part of its Biennale celebrations this year.

People staying in cheap hotels in Venice can enjoy the sixth International Festival of Contemporary Dance between June 14th and 29th.

This year's festival will see the conclusion of a four-year programme led by director Ismael Ivo, started by Body Attack in 2005, Under Skin in 2006 and Body and Eros last year.

The dance section was introduced to the Venice Biennale in 1999 and has examined a number of themes related to the art form over the years, including trends from around the world and the relationship between performers and the audience.

One of the highlights of the Biennale, the Venice International Film Festival, will take place between August 27th and September 6th this year.

The Biennale, which was founded in 1895, is one of the world's most famous and respected cultural institutions and traditionally focuses on the development of new artistic trends and contemporary arts.
