Deep Purple to Visit Venice
Classic rock fans staying in cheap hotels in Venice this December might be tempted to make a short trip out of the city centre to see a legendary group in concert.
Deep Purple will play live at the Palasport Jesolo just outside Venice on December 11th.
The group are considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock music in the UK, along with fellow legends such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
Formed in Hertfordshire in 1968, Deep Purple have sold more than 100 million albums over the past 40 years, including the number one hits Fireball and Machine Head in the early 1970s.
Their best-known songs include Black Night and the instantly recognisable and much-loved Smoke on the Water.
Rock fans visiting Italy in December will have several opportunities to catch up with the Deep Purple tour, with gigs scheduled in Rome (December 12th), Milan (December 15th) and Bologna (December 16th).
