The event, which is held in the Turin Lingotto, is open to those in the publishing industry and the public alike, with an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in all things literary for a few days.

Beyond the book covers, the city of Turin has a wide range of attractions for people staying in cheap hotels.

Famous historical buildings include the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, home of the famous Turin Shroud, the Mole Antonelliana, the royal residences of Palazzo Madama and Palazzo Reale and the Palatine towers.

Turin also has some fine modern attractions, with good nightlife, all the fine food and wine that might be expected in Italy and, according to the tourist board, is the only Italian city with four institutions dedicated to contemporary art.
