Examine Art from Rembrandt to Vermeer in Rome

Examine art from Rembrandt to Vermeer in Rome Art enthusiasts staying in cheap hotels in Rome over the coming months should be sure to pay a visit to the Museo del Corso.

From November 11th to February 15th 2009, this institution will host an exhibition entitled From Rembrandt to Vermeer: Civil values in 17th century Flemish and Dutch painting.

The display will feature some 55 masterpieces that have been borrowed from other galleries to offer a representation of the so-called 'golden age' of Flemish painting.

Rembrandt's Landscape with a Hanged Man and Rembrandt's The Money Changer are among the many famous pieces that will be included in the exhibition.

Curated by Bernd Lindemann, the head of Berlin's Gemaldegalerie, the show will also feature landscapes, portraits, domestic interiors, depictions of sacred themes and other paintings.

People paying a visit to Rome at any time of the year can see exhibitions on all manner of subjects at venues such as the Musei Capitolini, the Galleria Borghese and many other locations.
