Explore Ethnic Art in Milan

Explore ethnic art in Milan One of the many locations in Milan for art enthusiasts to visit is the Fondazione Mazzotta, a venue that will be presenting a fascinating exhibition next year for people familiar with the name Peggy Guggenheim.

Guggenheim was a well-known American art collector and promoter who helped support the work of such seminal figures as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Arshile Gorky.

The exhibition in Milan, however, looks at a lesser-known aspect of Guggenheim's career as a collector – her interest in ethnic art.

People staying in cheap hotels in Milan will be able to see some 36 pieces that she acquired in the 1960s, including art from Africa, Central America and Oceania.

The pieces in the exhibition, many of which will be on display to the public for the first time, represent a type of art that provided strong inspiration to artists involved with the Surrealist movement.

Visitors will be able to see the showcase in Milan until February 22nd next year.
