Explore the Pinault Collection in Venice
People with an interest in art will already be well aware that Francois Pinault, the French billionaire businessman, owns one of the world's biggest collections of contemporary art.
From June 6th, travellers staying in cheap hotels in Venice will be able to see some of the finest works from this prestigious collection at two of the city's top exhibition spaces.
Mapping the Studio - Artists from the Francois Pinault Collection will be presented simultaneously at the Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana.
The main purpose of the showcase is to draw a parallel between the artist's personal practice of creating his piece and the collector's process of researching and developing a body of work.
Work by some of the most influential names in contemporary art features in the exhibition, including Jeff Koons, Cy Twombly, Cindy Sherman and Takashi Murakami.
People with a passion for modern art should also pay a visit to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection during a trip to Venice, which this year is presenting a showcase of futurist art.
