Fashion in Milan
Fashion addicts can make their way to Milan until March 7th this year, to stock up on discounted quality accessories.
Italy's leading designer stores started their sales in the middle of January but many will continue, allowing shoppers to snap up a bargain in springtime.
The Quadrilatero d'Oro (Golden Triangle), east of the Piazza della Scala, holds the majority of Milan's high fashion outlets, as well as the city's design studios and contemporary art galleries.
Apart from the fashion, Milan has a host of attractions to offer the visitor, including the Duomo cathedral, which is surrounded by some 3,500 statues and boasts a view which reaches the Alps on a clear day.
La Scala is a short walk away and hosts a glass-roofed, marble-floored arcade, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, with opportunities to shop, people-watch or attend the opera.
With art galleries, cafes, the Parc Sempione and plenty of cheap hotels at the visitor's fingertips, Milan is a cultured choice for a budget weekend away.
