Glittering Winter in Turin

Glittering winter in Turin It's famous for providing the setting for the climax of The Italian Job and being home to Juventus, one of Europe's best-known football clubs, but Turin will take on a new significance this winter for the many people that visit the city.

From November to mid-January, people staying in hotels in Turin will be able to explore what is effectively an open-air gallery.

The Luci d'Artista (Artists' Lights) event has brought together Italy's top modern artists to bedeck Turin with their most ambitious designs.

This event has developed into an annual tradition since its inception in 1998.

One of the major attractions of the show is the interaction of different lighting arrangements that are cast on the pillars and friezes of the city's ancient churches.

Turin is located in the far north-west of Italy, with the bulk of the city situated on the west bank of the Po River.

The best-known building in the city is the Mole Antonelliana, which today houses the National Cinema Museum.
