Herbie Hancock to Play in Rome
Music fans enjoying stays in cheap hotels in Rome at the end of November could be in for a treat as jazz great Herbie Hancock is set to perform in the city.
Hancock and his backing band will play a gig at the Auditorio Musica on November 26th as part of an extensive European tour.
The group got their series of autumn shows underway in Vienna this week and will play in cities including Paris (October 10th), Barcelona (October 30th), Geneva (November 2nd) and Berlin (November 9th).
Fans in the UK will be able to see the band at venues ranging from Dublin's Tripod Theatre on November 11th and 12th to the Sage Gateshead on November 14th.
Hancock is most famous for being a virtuoso pianist and also for his bold combinations of characteristics of rock and soul with the stylistic aspects of jazz.
He has been making records and performing live shows since the early 1960s but is still going strong as he approaches his 70th birthday, picking up the Grammy award for album of the year in 2008.
