Milantiques Roadshow

Milantiques Roadshow For those antique lovers who like a bargain, Milan may be the place to go on the last Sunday of each month, with the city holding an antiques fair along a two kilometre stretch of the bank of the Naviglio Canal.

Visitors to the fair can find silverware, dolls, games, books, radios, glass, comics and many other items, while there are other shops set up permanently along the route.

Apart from the fair, visitors staying in cheap hotels in Milan have a wide range of things to see and do.

Fashionistas will have great fun in the boutiques of a city known for its sartorial splendour, while Il Duomo, the vast gothic cathedral, is the standard bearer for the city's fine architecture.

Naturally enough, Milan has plenty in the way of fine Italian food, while football fans can take in a big game at the San Siro, with either Inter or Milan at home.

Milan also makes a good base for exploring northern Italy, with the lakes and the Alps close at hand.
