Rome Explores Renoir
People staying in cheap hotels in Rome this year will be able to introduce themselves to one of the most important figures in art history Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Renoir was one of the leading members of the Impressionist movement, perfecting his style alongside the likes of Claude Monet and Alfred Sisley, with whom he often painted landscapes at Fointainebleau.
The French artist was arguably best known for his female nudes, with intimacy and sensuality among the chief themes of his work.
Some 150 paintings on loan from Italian and international museums will comprise the exhibition this year at the Complesso del Vittoriano from March 7th to June 29th.
The works incorporated into the exhibition have been collected to explore Renoir's human and artistic journey and many are suffused with the sun, light and colour that the artist was known for.
People staying in cheap hotels in Rome can find the Complesso del Vittoriano, which is a museum complex, on Via San Pietro in Carcere.
