Rome Hosts Annual Wine Festival

Wine enthusiasts are being urged to book cheap hotels in Rome in preparation for three-days of wine-related activities at the end of February as part of the city's wine festival.

Taking place at the Spazio Etoile between February 29th and March 2nd, the event's website states that it is aimed at professionals and "those who love wine and … are fascinated by its history, its magic, its science, its colour, smells and tastes".

The Rome Wine Festival also handpicks the estates that participate, which it argues means that those who visit can taste some of the best wines in Italy.

Events due to take place during the three-day festival include a special tasting and number of lectures about Merlot wines and a series of awards for the best wine museum, best wine label and the best "price-pleasure wines" of 2008.

Visitors to the festival may also pick up some ideas on where to take their next vacation. The events' website states that the event will allow people to "learn about new wines and wine estates, as well as getting to know a specific part of Italy that may well become your next vacation destination".
