Rome Plays Host to Rugby Ruckus
Fans of the savage but civilised sport of rugby can enjoy a clash between two global powers in one of the world's most glamorous locations in February.
The second round of the 2008 Six Nations tournament will see England travelling to Rome to take on Italy at the Stadio Flaminio.
One game of the competition will already have been played by the time the 2003 World Cup winners arrive on Italian soil, with England taking on Wales at Twickenham in their first match and Italy playing Ireland in Dublin.
Sport fans staying in cheap hotels in Rome can find the Stadio Flaminio on Viale Maresciallo Pilsudski.
The stadium was built in 1959 ahead of the 1960 Rome Olympics and has hosted all of Italy's Six Nations home matches since they joined the tournament in 2000.
Italy's capital is also its largest and most populous municipality, with more than 2.7 million residents.
It is home to such world famous tourist attractions as the Colosseum and St Peter's Square.
