The show will include bas-reliefs, bronze pieces, coins, sculptures and paintings which will all try to explore the concept of victory in Roman civilisation by looking at the ceremonies and festivities that surrounded historic battles.
Three sections will comprise the exhibition, the first of which will look at the development of success and triumph in Roman civilisation during the Hellenistic and Etruscan eras.
The second part of the display will depict illustrious victors and the notoriously defeated including Julius Caesar, Pompeius and Octavian and recreate battle scenes.
In the final section, the exhibition will look at cultures that were famously on the other side of a Roman victory, including the Greeks, the Judeans, the Dacians and the Barbarians.
Visitors to the Piazza del Colosseo will be able to see a number of Rome's other famous attractions, including the Forum and the Capitoline Museum.
