Rome Warms Up for Derby Day
People staying in cheap hotels in Rome in mid-March will be caught up in a frenzy of anticipation and excitement ahead of the local football derby.
Along with the likes of Glasgow, Milan, Liverpool and London, Rome is one of Europe's biggest cities in terms of the love that its people have for football and the animated state they get into ahead of a derby.
The next match between Lazio and Roma takes place at the Stadio Olimpico on March 19th.
It will be an impressive achievement if any visitors manage to get tickets for the match, but those who don't will be in for a unique experience anyway as the city grinds to a halt in anticipation of the game.
Roma have had the most enjoyable season of these two sides so far, with 39 points putting them in second position after 18 games.
They also won the first derby of this year when they beat Lazio 3-2 in October.
