Rome's Rose Garden is in Full Bloom
The Rome city rose garden has opened its doors to the public once again this year, according to latest reports.
It is anticipated that there will be over 1,000 roses on display at the park, which was once a Jewish cemetery overlooking the Palatine Hill, reports the website Wanted in Rome.
This year, authorities have announced that they have decided to allow cut roses to be sold and for the proceeds to go to the children's hospital in the city, Bambino Gesu.
Judging for the international best rose contest will take place over the two-week course of the event, with the winner being announced on May 20th.
Admission to the Roseto Comunale, Via di Valle Murcia is free and there are a number of guided tours of the rose garden taking place every day.
The garden is open from 8am until 7.30pm every day until June 11th and visitors are advised to ring the park or look online for tour times.
Now may be the perfect opportunity to book your summer trip to stay in one of the many beautiful and historic hotels in Rome.
