Travel to Roma to Experience Tosca
Holidaymakers staying in cheap hotels in Rome from October this year will get the chance to experience some true Italian culture in the capital city.
Giacomo Puccini's Tosca will be staged at Rome's Teatro Flaiano from October 2nd to the end of May next year.
The opera will be presented by Piccola Lirica, a company that is known for performing its shows in a small theatre with the main roles played by emerging artists.
All of the drama and intensity of Tosca will be compressed into 90 minutes, using a set that contributes to the story with symbolic indications of some of the important themes.
Tosca is one of Puccini's greatest operas, full of love, romance and tragedy, and with memorable characters including the famous singer Floria Tosca and the ruthless Baron Scarpia, the chief of police.
Visitors to Rome looking for a cultural experience can also visit the Teatro dell'Opera, one of the city's most famous venues.
