TripAdvisor Lists Top 'extreme New Year's Events'
Travellers planning a last-minute getaway for New Year's Eve have been offered some inspiration by TripAdvisor.
The travel advice website listed the "top ten extreme New Year's events" for people to experience this year.
People who book cheap hotels in Venice to celebrate the end of the year will be able to get involved in Love 2010, which will be based in St Mark's Square.
The event will see more than 60,000 people taking part in a giant communal kiss to promote love, peace and togetherness.
Other unique occasions recommended by TripAdvisor include the Race of the Noses in Barcelona, which will get underway at 17:30 local time on December 31st.
The 10km road race is named after the 'man of many noses', a character from Catalan legend who appears on the last day of the year.
People who will be attending Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations might fancy checking out the 'Loony Dip' on New Year's Day, which sees hundreds of people taking a swim in the freezing River Forth.
