Turin Calls the Tune
A multicultural festival of classic and contemporary music is to be hosted in Turin from September 3rd to September 27th this year.
The annual Settembre Musica festival, which is also hosted by Milan, will offer more than 80 concerts featuring renowned composers and musicians to entertain those staying in cheap hotels, according to Whatsonwhen.
Turin will host symphonic performances by the Gewandhaus Orchestera, Chicago Symphoney and Staatskapelle Dresden, with Milan providing the Bayerisches Staatorchester and Prague Philarmonic Orchestra among other performances.
The concert intends to "let the world know that the Torino-Milano metropolitan area possesses a cultural vitality that is unrivalled in Europe", according to its organisers.
The festival hopes to both encourage local interest and attract new audiences thanks through both its musical performances and "the area's cultural offerings that include museums, exhibitions, castles, churches, and food and wines of the highest quality".
Various locations and baroque buildings throughout the city of Piedmont will host the performances.
