Venice Celebrates Bernardo Roig
Modern art enthusiasts should pay a visit to Ca' Pesaro if they are planning a break in Venice over the coming weeks.
Until November 8th, the institute will present a showcase of work by Bernardo Roig entitled Shadows Must Dance.
The exhibition was developed specifically for Ca' Pesaro by Roig, who is an important and influential figure on the Spanish contemporary art scene.
A total of 15 pieces feature in the display, including sculptures, installations, drawings and videos.
The works are positioned in order to create a dialogue with the spaces and exhibits of the Ca' Pesaro museum, forging a link between the past and the present with the aim of "making shadows dance again".
Presented as part of the 53rd Venice Biennale, Shadows Must Dance will be transferred to the Institute of Modern Art in Valencia in November.
People staying in cheap hotels in Venice this year can also visit Ca' Pesaro before November 22nd to see an exhibition dedicated to Bosnian artist Braco Dimitrijevic.
