Yoko Ono Work on Show in Venice

Yoko Ono work on show in Venice People staying in cheap hotels in Venice this summer will be able to visit the Bevilacqua la Masa foundation to see an art installation created by Yoko Ono.

Anton's Memory will be presented by the foundation at Palazzetto Tito in the Dorsoduro area of Venice from May 29th to September 20th.

Designed specifically for the rooms of this exhibition space, the installation consists of a series of pieces including films, sound compositions, sculptures, drawings and interactive displays.

The work has been described by Ono herself as "a woman's life we see only through her son's eyes - his faded memory".

While she first became famous for being the wife of Beatles frontman John Lennon, Ono has since won recognition as a conceptual artist and performer in her own right.

On June 6th this year, she will have the honour of receiving the Golden Lion for her career achievements at the 2009 edition of the Venice Biennale.
