Featuring participants from all over the world, the event offers visitors staying in cheap hotels the chance to enjoy masterclasses in various locations (to be confirmed) and turn that second left foot into a right one.

Organisers of this years' event have promised "three unforgettable parties" in the evenings, so that those who have improved their Cuban rumba, cha-cha-cha and Zouk can show off in style.

As well as the festival, visitors to Riga will be able to enjoy many interesting sights and sounds in the capital of a nation reasserting its independence after leaving the Soviet Union.

Interesting buildings include St Peter's Church, Riga Castle and the Powder Tower, the only remaining part of the original city walls and home to the Latvian War Musuem.
