A Last New Insight

A last new insight Early October brings a last chance for art lovers to see a fascinating series of drawings on display at the Vincent Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

These works by the Dutch master himself are paper drawings displayed in the New Insights exhibition, which continues until October 7th 2007.

While the pictures on display cover his entire career, the majority are from the last years of his life, when between 1888 and 1890 he was prolific in his drawing but also suffered severe mental illness and famously cut off his ear before his eventual suicide.

Fans of the great man will therefore be able to reflect on works that came from the hand of a tortured genius, a poignant insight indeed.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Amsterdam will be able to see a variety of museums and other art from the likes of Rembrandt, as well as enjoying the city's bohemian ambience and attractive network of canals.
