Flat Runners

Flat runners Those who fancy taking on the ultimate running challenge may decide they need all the help they can get.

Luckily, Amsterdam provides on October 21st 2007 by virtue of being one of the flattest courses around – just as one might expect in the Netherlands.

Thus the race may well be a gruelling 26 miles and 385 years, but at least there are no hills to struggle up.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels will be able to enjoy taking part in a race which gives them - should they run more than one marathon in their lifetime - a big chance to set a personal best, something those merely coming to watch will be able to cheer them on to achieve.

Starting and finishing in the Olympic Stadium, the course runs right through this historic city, which has an attractive network of canals and many fine museums, as well as its famous nightlife.
