Go Dutch and Celebrate

Go Dutch and celebrate Tourists staying in cheap hotels in Amsterdam this May and June will be able to sample the cultural delights of the city as it stages the annual arts festival.

Visitors are expected to flock to the Dutch location from the end of May when the event launches with a performance of Janacek's From the House of the Dead, which is expected to feature opera stars Pierre Boulez and Richard Peduzzi.

Culture vultures in search of a dancing extravaganza will be heading to the Nederlands Dans Theater at the Westergasfabriek during the three-week celebration period, where a new piece choreographed by Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon will have its premiere.

Holidaymakers will also be able to take advantage of other contemporary artistic treats as jazz veteran Wayne Shorter is set to take the stage with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra for a unique performance.

Amsterdam already boasts a whole host of treats for art lovers staying in its cheap hotels, including the well known Van Gogh Museum and the popular Rembrandt House Museum at Jodenbreestraat.
