Jump Across the Channel
Those who love their equestrian sport may find themselves having a great time if they head to Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands between March 23rd and the 26th for the Indoor Brabant.
Held in the Brabanthallen, the event features four days of top-class show jumping, dressage and horse-based entertainment, as horses and riders take on a series of obstacles, walls, water jumps, the clock and each other.
Michael Whitaker leads the British riders taking part in the event, while there is a strong emphasis on up and coming local competition.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the area will have plenty more to enjoy besides the horses.
The town is close to Rotterdam, which offers a range of interesting architecture, maritime-based museums, river trips and panoramic views from the spectacular Euromast Tower.
As the Netherlands is small in area, the visit can also be combined with a general tour of the country.
