Learn the Story of Hannie Schaft

Their struggles came to a tragic end, however, as all three women were eventually executed for their fight against oppression.

People staying in cheap hotels in Amsterdam can discover in detail the story of Hannie Schaft, also known as the 'girl with the red hair', and her fellow freedom fighters at the Dutch Resistance Museum until December 7th.

The permanent exhibit of this museum recreated the atmosphere of the streets of Amsterdam at the time of the German occupation during the Second World War.

Visitors interested in that dark chapter of history can see photographs, posters, objects and films telling the story of the time.

The museum is located in Amsterdam's Plantage district near a number of other cultural centres that may be of interest to visitors.
