Unseen Anne Frank Letters Go on Display
A special exhibition that will display a collection of private letters written by Anne Frank has opened at the Amsterdam Historical Museum.
Curator of the museum, Wouter van der Sluis, told the BBC that the letters, which were previously thought to have been destroyed, show an additional insight into Anne Frank's life.
One of the letters is a letter that the young Jewish girl wrote to her father who was unhappy about her friendship with a boy that shared her hiding place.
Mr van der Sluis goes on to say that he believes that the letter was a declaration of her independence.
"In that letter she said, through all this heavy circumstances here I've grown up earlier," he said.
The exhibition also features photos of the Frank family home in Amsterdam before the Nazi occupation, as well as poems and other collections.
There are a number of top hotels in Amsterdam, many within close proximity to the Amsterdam Historical Museum.
