Fashionistas to Head to Auckland

Travellers with an eye for fashion may want to head to Auckland this September, as the city gears up for fashion week.

Taking place between September 19th and 22nd 2006, the Air New Zealand Fashion Week will showcase the sleekest styles and most desirable designs from all over the country.

Since the fashion week began six years ago, organisers claim that New Zealand's fashion industry has "come of age", now generating million of dollars in export value around the world.

A long list of local designers will attend the events, which will take place at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour Marine Village, which provides a unique ambience because of its proximity to the water.

Visitors staying at one of the city's cheap hotels can enjoy to the wide range of public events taking place, including DJ lounges and a chance to check out some live Kiwi music.

The Red Bull studio will showcase young bands, creating a great atmosphere for those lucky enough to be at the event.
