Queen of the Winter

Queen of the winter Thrill seekers have yet another reason to head to Queenstown on New Zealand's South Island, with the town's winter festival taking place from June 22nd to July 1st 2007.

Already a big centre for winter sports with its surrounding mountains, Queenstown will be host to a range of extraordinary and bizarre activities and lots of partying and entertainment, with everything from Rugby to bob apples in the snow, plus several bands providing music in the evenings.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Queenstown are never short of adventurous things to see and do in a town where fun and thrills mix with a glorious Middle Earth backdrop of stunning scenery.

Activities include skiing, white-water rafting, helicopter rides, skydiving and mountain hikes, not to mention the activity the town is most famous for, bungee jumping.

Less strenuous activities available include lake steaming on the TSS Earnslaw across Lake Wakitapu, fishing and wine tasting.
