Say Kia Ora to Kiakoura

Say Kia Ora to Kiakoura Seafood lovers have an extra incentive to head for the land of the long white cloud when the Kaikoura Seafest takes place on Saturday October 6th 2007.

Set on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, Kaikoura is at the heart of a region which enjoys an abundance of aquatic culinary produce, with all kinds of oceanic delicacies brought up from the watery depths to the dinner tables in order to delight the tastebuds.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the town can dive into plenty of seafood as well as enjoying the land-based produce of the Canterbury region's many wineries.

The event is also accompanied by plenty of music and other entertainment on the day itself and those around it.

According to organisers, party-goers can buy a ticket for the Big Top Bash on the Friday evening for NZ$15 (£5.80)

Kaikoura also offers the chance to enjoy beautiful scenery, both seawards with whale-watching opportunities and inland, where the snow-capped mountains of the Southern Alps form a panoramic backdrop.
