Tee off Down Under

Those who love their golf may find a very good time to visit New Zealand in February when the New Zealand PGA Championship is held in Christchurch between the 22nd and the 25th.

Held at the idyllic Clearwater Club, the tournament is a major event on the golfing calendar down under, attracting a number of big name players from North America and Australasia.

Last year Jim Rutledge of Canada won the tournament, succeeding Peter O'Malley who won in 2005.

Apart from watching plenty of golf, visitors to Christchurch will have plenty to see and do around the City.

The city offers elegant colonial architecture with a distinctly English feel, while the surrounding countryside and sea offers whale watching, boating, mountaineering and adventure sports.

New Zealand's South Island also offers the chance to climb glaciers and indulge in New Zealand's most daring sport – bungee jumping.
