Brilliant in Bergen
Those who fancy a bit of fun in Scandinavia once the sun has returned to the not-quite-so-frozen north can do so in spades in Bergen from April 26th to May 1st.
Bergenfest caters for fans of folk music, with plenty of R&B, gospel, country and cajun, held in a variety of locations around the city.
While music fans can enjoy the vibes, there is more for those staying in cheap hotels in Bergen to see and do.
The city has plenty of museums, historic buildings and nightlife, but the greatest highlight is its location, surrounded by mountains and close to some spectacular fjords.
Suffice to say, no trip to the city would be complete without a cruise up some of these wonders of nature.
While Bergen is fairly isolated, being 478 km from Oslo, it is easily reached by ferry from Britain.
