Land of the Midsummer Fun

Land of the midsummer fun Visitors to Norway in the summer will not just be able to enjoy the extremely long daylight hours, but join in with some fine festivities, not least in the capital, Oslo.

The Oslo summer festival takes place from June 8th to 10th 2007 and features a wide range of entertainment, with a funfair to keep the kids amused, concerts, theatre, entertainment shows and food.

All this takes place in the open air in central Oslo, with events starting at 10:00 local time each day.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels can also enjoy a number of other sights in the city.

These include the Nobel Peace Centre, the Oslo Reptile Park, the Norwegian Opera, the Munch Museum, where the famous Scream painting will hopefully be back on display and of course the Viking Ship Museum, where the horned helmet past is brought back to life.

Visitors to the city who enjoy the long days will revel in the fact that the sun stays up until after 22.30 at this time of year.
