Party Like Its 1814
Visitors to Norway on May 17th will be in for a treat no matter what part of the country they are in, for the date in question is Constitution Day.
Dating back to the creation of the constitution signed on May 17th 1814, the occasion will see the whole country rock from downtown Oslo to the far frozen north, with flags, banners, traditional national dress and every form of patriotism on display.
Those staying in Oslo may get to see the royals in procession, while everywhere the national anthem will be sung and the country will party and make music.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels will not only be able to join in the party, but enjoy one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with mountains, fjords and glaciers alongside modern cities and ancient heritage, offering visitors the chance to do anything from visiting the Nobel Peace Centre to enjoying winter sports
