Get into World Music in Krakow
Music fans may have the opportunity to hear something they have never encountered before during trips to Krakow this year.
From July 24th to 26th, the Polish city will host the 11th edition of the Crossroads traditional music festival.
This event is known for bringing a number of disparate musical styles together, celebrating everything from jazz and rock to classical.
In the past, the festival has hosted a number of big names from various world music scenes, including Gheorghe Zamfir of Romania, who performed last year with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra.
Another highlight of the 2008 festival was an appearance by the Gypsy Queens and Kings ensemble, who took to the stage with support from Esma Redzepova of Macedonia.
Travellers staying in cheap hotels in Krakow will find the main events in the city's central market square, while smaller concerts and music workshops are held at the festival club at the Rotunda.
