Golden Autumn in Warsaw
While September may bring the first hints of autumn with cool mornings and browning leaves, it also offers visitors to Warsaw a classical music treat.
Warsaw Autumn is a festival offering a wide range of classical and modern music, using a number of different venues for concerts.
Running from September 21st to the 30th 2007 (date to be confirmed), the event has now been running for over half a century, aiming to bring its audience the works of the best composers from all over the world.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the Polish capital will be able to combine their musical enjoyment with a wider exploration of the city.
Interesting sights include the museum of the Warsaw Ghetto, commemorating the turbulent history of the Jewish population, the historic Old Town and the panoramic view from the top of the Stalinist-era Palace of Culture and Science, the tallest building in Poland at 230 metres (755 ft) high.
