Krakow Celebrates the Dumpling
The Polish city of Krakow will this year be celebrating one of its staple foods – the dumpling.
People staying in cheap hotels in Krakow will be able to join in with the tribute to this simple but much-loved foodstuff at the Pierogi Festival on August 15th and 16th.
The event will focus specifically on stuffed dumplings and aim to promote the quality of old Polish cuisine among locals as well as tourists.
Festivalgoers will be able to attend plenty of activities to keep them entertained, including tasting sessions, fairs, artistic exhibitions and competitions.
All of the dishes prepared for the event are created by professional chefs from around Krakow.
Visitors can be assured that the chefs will be investing their full culinary abilities in the event, as they will be competing for the Casimir the Great and Saint Jack of the Dumplings awards.
