Nightlife in Krakow

For a low key start to your evening, try the Chill Out at 15 Ulica Jana. This cosy little bar is well hidden at the back of a courtyard.

If you are looking for some live music there is a great little venue called ShowTime at 28 Rynek Glowny. The bar is upstairs and here you can here live music from 21.00 they seem to keep serving until everyone’s had enough.   

For anyone looking for a late and lively bar then checkout Midgard. This is one of Krakow’s latest club and is very crowded be warned. Midgard is located at 5 Ulica Szewska.

The restaurant bar Rozowy Slon is a great place for lunch. This is a vibrant student hang out serving typical Polish dishes, and fine beers. Rozowy Slon is situated at 24 Ulica Straszewskiego, Krakow.

Although it’s not actually Polish cuisine. There is a fine Mexican restaurant in Krakow called Taco Mexicano at 20 Ulica Poselska.
Here they serve some fiery fajitas, which can be washed down with beer and tequila.

The restaurant Farina is one of Krakow’s most up market restaurants. The Farina has won plenty of plaudits from home and abroad. The restaurant specialises in seafood and adds its own twist to several classic fish dishes.

Interesting Areas of Krakow

Kanonicza is a street that is very easy to miss. But if you wander down this lovely cobbled street you will find some charming tea houses, which serve Earl Grey with your Polish homemade cakes. 

Plac Nowy is the centre of the old Jewish district and a fascinating area to explore. This area boasts some of the finest cafes and bakeries. You have to try out a Zapiekanka, which is a slice of toasted bread with cheese and mushroom on top.

If you’re looking for a spooky twist to your weekend then head to the Church of the Rocks. This church has a great crypt and contains the remains of some of Poland’s literary greats. The Church of the Rocks is located at Ulica Skaleczna, Kazimierz.

The Wawel castle dominates most of Krakow, this fine castle dates back till the 11th century and is a must for visitors to see.

Getting from Krakow Airport

Car Hire
There are several car hire companies represented at the Airport, these are located in the arrival hall.

Taxi
The taxi’s run on a meter at the airport, and a taxi ride should be no more than 40 Polish Lot.

Bus
There are several bus routes to choose from. The buses are cheap and frequent, you can take either number 192 or 208 from outside the arrival hall. The cost of a bus is only 2.70 Polish Lot, and the journey takes about 25 minutes.
