Poland 'a Bargain Destination'
Travellers staying in cheap hotels in Krakow and other cities in Poland should have no trouble finding some attractive bargains in the city, according to new research.
Tesco Travel Money carried out a survey on the affordability of holiday destinations in Europe compared to the UK and found that Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria offer "the best bargains".
A third (34 per cent) of Brits are intending to spend less on their holidays this year, according to the research.
Despite this trend, only seven per cent of travellers said they are planning to visit the non-euro destinations of Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria.
A Tesco Travel Money spokesperson said: "Over the past three years, over a third of Brits have taken last-minute holidays and with their budgets stretched even further this year, this trend is set to continue.
"But those looking for a bargain break would be wise not just to look into the cost of travel but also the expenses they are likely to incur once they are there."
Holidaymakers who visit Krakow can look out for sights such as Wawel Castle and the Rynek Glowny marketplace.
