Poland 'has Become More Affordable for Brits'
British travellers staying in cheap hotels in Krakow and other destinations in Poland will have benefited from a significant fall in the value of the zloty, the Polish currency, according to new research.
International Currency Exchange (Ice) revealed that Poland's currency has lost 19 per cent of its value against the pound since the beginning of the year.
The only currencies that have seen greater falls against the pound over recent months are the Jamaican dollar (24 per cent) and the Icelandic krona (23 per cent).
Other destinations that have become more affordable for British travellers since the beginning of the year include Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, Croatia and Hong Kong.
Earlier this year, Ice released a study which showed that the Polish zloty was the ninth most popular currency for British travellers.
The euro and the US dollar topped the list, while the Australian dollar, the Czech koruna and the Swiss franc also appeared in the top ten.
