Tour De Pologne to Reach Climax in Krakow
Sports fans will be booking their cheap hotels in Krakow soon to see the conclusion of this year's Tour de Pologne cycling race.
The event, which is Poland's equivalent of the prestigious Tour de France, will finish in Krakow on August 8th following its launch in Warsaw six days earlier.
Cyclists will visit locations including the cities of Lublin and Rzeszow, the Tatra mountains and the winter resort of Zakopane before crossing the finish line in Krakow.
Thousands of fans and competitors will descend on Poland in August for the race, which will cover a total distance of 1,253km.
Ewa Binkin, acting director of the Polish National Tourist Office, said: "This is a great event for Poland and the atmosphere at the start of the race in Warsaw and on the finishing line in Krakow will be wonderful.
"There's also the chance to see the cyclists tackle the Tatras in a wonderfully scenic setting."
The Tour de Pologne has been a regular part of Poland's sporting calendar for the past 80 years, having been held for the first time in 1928.
