Superbock Rocks Portugal
The unambiguously named Super bock Super rock music festival is set to turn up the volume in Portugal today and tomorrow.
Named after a famous brand of beer, the event is the first major rock music festival in the country's summer calendar.
Taking place in the Parque de Tejo, in Lisbon's Park de Nacoes (Park of Nations), the second part of the festival takes place on June 7th and 8th 2006, the earlier part having rocked towards the end of May.
While the first section featured rock legends Korn, Deftones, Placebo and Alice in Chains, the second spell is full of UK influence, including groups such as Franz Ferdinand and Keane, while US rapper, singer and producer Pharrell Williams will be adding some extra style.
The bill will also feature the winners of a competition, Super bock Super rock Preload II, for up-and-coming bands.
