There's Something Fishy About the Ice-cream in Lisbon

There's something fishy about the ice-cream in Lisbon A shop near Lisbon is due to start serving ice-cream in flavours such as tuna, shrimp, cod and grilled sardines when it opens next month.

Lusa news agency yesterday reported that the Coromoto store in a fishing port close to the capital is to offer 60 exotic flavours alongside its traditional options.

Among the new-fangled flavours to be served are Bailey's Irish Cream, herb liqueur pisang ambon and curacao.

"Anything that you can eat or drink can be transformed into an ice cream," owner of the shop, Manuel Oliveira, told the agency.

Mr Oliveira went on to claim that he believes he inherited his passion for ice-cream from his father who earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records for dreaming up the largest number of flavours.

Mr Oliveira senior's shop in the Venezuelan city of Merida serves over 700 ice-cream flavours, which include garlic, spaghetti and trout.
