'Hong Kong Beatles' to Entertain Singapore
Music fans staying in cheap hotels in Singapore in July may get the chance to experience the group sometimes referred to as 'the Hong Kong Beatles'.
Wynners were one of the earliest 'supergroups' to emerge from the Hong Kong Cantopop music scene in the early 1970s.
They are still going strong today and visitors to Singapore can see the band at the city's Indoor Stadium on July 19th.
Five famous members comprise Wynners – vocalist Alan Tam, guitarists Kenny Bee and Bennett Pang, Danny Yip on bass guitar and Anthony Chan on drums.
The group customarily reunites every five years to celebrate anniversaries by performing to sold-out crowds.
Most recently, they played 13 full-house gigs at the Hong Kong Coliseum in February 2007.
Music fans staying in cheap hotels in Singapore this summer may also be interested in visiting Soundwaves, a blend of dance, music and drama that will be held at the Esplanade Theatre on July 4th-5th.
