Seminal Artist's Work on Show in Singapore
Singapore will be hosting a show in April that will explore the work of influential artist Xu Beihong.
Xu is recognised as the founder of China's art education in the realist tradition and was one of the first Chinese painters to study in the west.
During his time travelling the world, Xu became a master of both traditional ink painting and western oil painting.
People staying in cheap hotels in Singapore can find an exhibition dedicated to the artist at the Singapore Art Museum between April 3rd and July 13th.
The display will primarily focus on the work that Xu did in the 1930s and early 40s as he travelled throughout south-east Asia and India.
One of the most interesting elements of the show will be its representation of the interactions that took place between the artist himself and the various communities he visited.
