Singapore attracting more tourists Increasing numbers of tourists are said to be flocking to Singapore with the country welcoming a record 826,000 visitors last month.

Brits and other Europeans are said to be booking luxury and cheap hotels in Singapore in their droves with figures showing a 0.8 rise on visitor numbers since last year.

The data released by the Singapore Tourism Board also showed that visitors from Indonesia, India, China and Australia were increasingly enjoying holidays in the country.

Officials said that there were numerous factors which have helped to boost the number of people booking cheap hotels in Singapore.

These include travel and airline promotions, strong branding and marketing efforts promoting Singapore as a top holiday hotspot.

The number of people visiting the Asian nation is expected to increase even further as it plans to host the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix in September – the first night race in Formula 1 history.
