Singapore 'could Host Moto GP Within Three Years'
Motor sports fans are expected to start booking cheap hotels in Singapore if the city gets the go ahead to host a Moto GP.
According to the Today newspaper, agreement was struck between Dorna Sports which holds the commercial rights to the event and a Singaporean company.
It is believed that the agreement will see the city hosting a round of the Moto GP World Championships as early as 2011.
Head of Dorna Sports Carmelo Ezpeleta said that the timeframe for the event was dependent on when a permanent track is built.
"I understand it will be up in three years' time, so you can have a race there as early as 2011, if not 2012," he said.
Last month, Singapore cleared its streets and hosted the first-ever night race in Formula One.
Cheap hotels in Singapore were booked up for the event which brought thousands of sports fans to the city.
