Singapore Prepares to Launch Night-time GP

Singapore prepares to launch night-time GP Motorsport fans will currently be booking their cheap hotels in Singapore and struggling to contain their excitement in anticipation of the first Formula One Grand Prix to be held at night.

The Singapore Grand Prix will be held on the final weekend of September, with qualifying taking place on September 27th and the full race being held the following day.

Drivers will cover a total of 61 laps and 309km on a course illuminated only by floodlights.

With 12 races of the season complete, British star Lewis Hamilton currently leads the Formula One drivers' championship on 70 points, with Felipe Massa not far behind on 64.

There will only be three races left after the Singapore Grand Prix, meaning that every point available in the night-time race will be crucial.

On August 20th the organisers of the event announced that 95 per cent of the available tickets have already been sold but informed fans that seats are still available in a number of grandstands.
